Usually, your doctor or dermatologist can determine if you suffer from Psoriasis simply by checking your skin. However, since psoriasis comes in many forms and can look like other types of skin diseases, the diagnosis can sometimes prove difficult. If it is unclear, your doctor may order a biopsy by taking a small sample of your skin and sending it to a lab for testing.
Symptoms of Psoriatic Arthritis, such as swollen and painful joints, may require blood tests and x-rays to rule out any other forms of arthritis.
